The wisemen had hope that a saviour would come and followed the star to see baby Jesus. Our hope is in God and we need to place our trust in him. "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15 v 13
Today we lit candle one and talked about being prepared. As we enter into the busy time preparing for Christmas we need to check that our hearts and prepared for Christ's second coming as well. We remembered the parable Yvette told us about the women not having enough oil in their lamps when the bridegroom came so they missed out.
Then we made some advent calendar's to help us count down to Christmas and Jesus' birthday party.

Today we started looking at our new topic for term 4 - God's Heroes of Faith. Lesson One was talking about faith and using our 'shields of faith'. First we played a game of see if Michelle can hit us with the balls. :-) This helped us realise that we need shields to protect us. So we had to make ourselves some shields. Didn't we do a great job of decorating them. Over the next few weeks we will be looking at examples of God's Heroes in the bible who used their shields of faith. These were just normal people like us who had faith in God.
Today we learnt that our words can be like toothpaste. Once you squeeze them out of the tube you can't put them back in. So think about what you are going to say before you say it. Our words can also be like a marshmallow - soft and sweet. Words can be healing to other people like a plaster.
To celebrate our term of learning as Secret Agents for God searching for Kindness and Gratefulness for had a Secret Agent Party in the school holidays.
