we meet sundays at 9AM & 10.30am at the arataki community centre

C3 Church was formerly known as Christian City Church and it exists to connect people to God. Our church is full of people who have discovered an incredible richness of life that comes from having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  God is vibrant, joyful and powerful. His presence should always give rise to a sense of excitement and a fullness of spirit.  This understanding of God is reflected in the enthusiastic and upbeat nature of our church services. Jesus said that He came to earth that we might have a life of abundance (John 10:10). Every time we come together to worship God we are celebrating what Jesus has done for us.  C3 Church has congregations around the world that are overflowing with the goodness of God. Our message is one of faith, hope and love. You are welcome at C3 Church Tauranga this weekend.

OUR MisSION

Our mission is to be a church that loves God, loves everyone, makes disciples.

The vision of C3 Church Tauranga, love God, love everyone, make disciples

The first two parts of our mission are based around 'the greatest commandment' When Jesus is questioned about what the greatest commandment is,  He said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-40 ESV).  It is our belief that if we make our lives about doing these two things we will be fulfilling God's will on the earth.

The third part comes from Jesus' command known as 'The Great Commission' (Matthew 28:19) where He instructs His disciples to go into all the world and make disciples. In this command is God's plan for the growth and expansion of His church; that we would make disciples (followers of Christ) who make disciples who make disciples.

OUR VALUES

We have four key values that define the family we want to be:

LOVE - Jesus said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your mind and all your strength" - this is first and foremost for us.  He also said, "Love one another as I have loved you, and the world will know that you are my disciples" (John 13:34-35).  We aim to have this love alive in us; love that connects us and cares for each other, love that "bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, love that never ends" (1 Corinthians 13:7-8)

UNITY - Jesus prayed for His followers, "That they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me" (John 17:23).  We want to apprehend His vision of unity with God and each other to bring glory to Him.  We love and celebrate the diversity and uniqueness of each person, and how this creates the fullness of the body of Christ when we come together and dwell in unity and peace.

FREEDOM - "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom", (2 Corinthians 3:17), and "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free", (Galatians 5:1).  We want to live in this freedom He has blessed us with; free from sin, slavery and religion - free to love God and thrive and flourish in Him.

HUMILITY - We seek to live our lives to serve God and serve other people, following Jesus' example of "laying HIs life down for His friends" (1 John 3:16); trying not to be prideful or arrogant but "in humility counting others more significant than ourselves" (Philippians 2:2), and living not in our own strength but in God's.

OUR CULTURE

1. PEOPLE OF PRAYER

In Matthew 21:13 Jesus said, “My house will be called a House of prayer.” We want to create a spiritual atmosphere where people’s lives are transformed. Prayer takes an ordinary person and makes them extraordinary by connecting us with the Almighty God.

 2. PEOPLE OF THE WORD

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, and therefore our 'daily bread' that nourishes and sustains us, the foundational rock we build our lives upon and perfect wisdom for everyday life.

 3. WORSHIP

We worship God wholeheartedly through music, 'in spirit and in truth'.  Our music is celebratory, bright, and encourages adoration and connection with God.

 4. PRESENCE OF GOD

We believe that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit so that humanity could experience the presence of God once again on earth.  We believe in the miraculous and encourage the supernatural power of God.

 5. VISION AND FAITH

Faith is what connects us to God - faith that believes 'not in what is seen but in what is unseen'; faith that has its foundation in the Word of God and grows and stretches us forward. Hebrews 11: 6: "Without faith it is impossible to please God".

 6. GENEROSITY

We believe in being a generous and giving people, because we have a generous and giving God.  We believe in success and people prospering holistically in every area of their lives to overflow in generosity.

 7. LEADERSHIP

We believe that people with leadership skills can change the world. We turn leaders loose with authority and responsibility. We would rather be inclusive and empowering rather than exclusive.

 8. DISCIPLESHIP

The Great Commission in Matthew 28:18 means that we are called to make disciples; that we continue to lead and challenge people to grow in their faith. We believe in multiplication and growth through strong, healthy, committed friendship and relationship.

9. SERVANTHOOD

We have a strong servanthood culture and believe in excellence; “a can do” Spirit. That we would be great stewards and do the best with what God has given us.

 10. FREEDOM

We believe in freedom to serve and please God in who you are… to be you.

OUR BELIEF

1. There is one God: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit

2. In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God; we believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His victorious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His constant intercession and in His imminent return

3. In the person and work of the Holy Spirit with His fruits and gifts available in the Church; The Bible is the living word of God. It is infallible, authoritative and everlasting and is the foundation of all Christian doctrine

4. In the existence of an evil spiritual being known as the devil

5. In the spiritually lost condition of all people and the essential need for the new birth by faith in Jesus Christ

6. In the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a gift available to believers subsequent to the new birth, with normal evidence of speaking in other tongues

7. In the sacraments of the Lords Supper and baptism by full immersion in water for all believers

8. In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting separation from God

9. In the church being the body of Christ, and each member being an active part of a local church, fulfilling the Great Commission.

OUR MOVEMENT

We love being part of a movement that is worldwide in its impact. The Vision of the C3 Global movement is to plant a C3 Church in cities all around the world. Our True North is the salvation of the lost. This is our primary purpose. We will continue to plant churches all over the world so Christ would be revealed, lives transformed, and that ultimately God would be glorified.
